Croft Primary School was delighted to receive the grant from the Lottery Fund in May of last year.

Tennis was chosen as the focus of their bid because it is not a sport that the majority of children have the opportunity to play.

The grant will enable them to work with highly experienced coaches and use the excellent Council owned tennis courts situated within walking distance from the school.

The Tennis Club will add to their extensive after-school programme and you never know, might produce a future tennis star.

Geoff Hoon visited the school and joined an event to mark the successful bid. He said: 'My congratulations go to Croft Primary School for their successful bid. I am sure the children will enjoy the benefits of tennis coaching and the fantastic new tennis equipment.'
